Since Mueller is situated just four minutes from the center of the Austin metro area, residents and students can easily make the short commute to the college or university of their choice. A few institutions of higher learning within the area include The University of Texas at Austin, Austin Community College, Huston-Tillotson University, St. Edward's University, Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest, and Austin Graduate School of Theology, among others.
Public and Private Schooling K-12
Families with students in grades K-12 will be pleased to know that their child's educational needs will be provided by the Austin Independent School District. Currently, students may attend Maplewood Elementary School, Kealing Middle School, and McCallum High School. Kealing Middle School also offers magnet programs and enrichment programs for students. The community of Mueller features over 75 acres of parks and open green spaces complete with lakes, hiking, biking and jogging trails, playgrounds for the little ones, and over 15,000 trees. Lake Park features an amphitheatre in its 30-acre space and residents can also head on over to Southwest Greenway, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and Blackland Prairie. Planners have also made it so that residents will be able to hike and bike through a number of trails throughout the community. Pedestrians will always have the right of way as there are a number of walkways that will lead them to over 140 acres of open spaces and parks. Other local parks and golf courses such as Morris Williams Golf Course and Hancock Park Golf Course provide residents with more recreational opportunities that will keep them busy for days on end.
